The “skills gap” or skilled worker shortage is a hot topic in industrial workplaces, but why and how bad is it? A recent Tooling U-SME study of more than 850 U.S. manufacturing companies revealed that 64 percent of respondents reported significant setbacks due to a shortage of skilled laborers.

With Schaeffer’s hydraulic fluids, you decide when to stop working—not your equipment. Our hydraulic fluids reduce friction, maintain viscosity and dissipate heat, allowing your equipment to run cooler and longer.

Lubricant leakages and maintenance are an inevitable part of all industries. Lubricants do not discriminate against the materials with which they come into contact. So the food-processing and pharmaceutical industries have additional challenges in selecting the right lubricants to do the job.

The noria was an inevitable invention that sparked the development of countless types of hydraulic and rotating machines. Over the centuries, it has allowed civilizations to nourish their villages and crops with water, the most fundamental of resources. This triggered the beginning of a new era - the turning of arid lands into prosperous empires.

Have you ever threaded in a drain plug not quite right, or had the drain plug washer not seat properly but you didn't want to drain all the new oil out? For many small-sump machines (gearboxes, etc.), you can apply suction via a shop vac with a clean rag over the fill hole that will create a vacuum allowing you to momentarily remove the drain plug and reinsert a new one with hardly a drop lost.
